The Director of Operations is expected to develop a revenue plan and two-year budget for growing 7 to 12 local news websites and a national news site. They will oversee development of launch plans, reporting milestones and KPIs for each site. They will work closely with the CEO to manage the Steering Committee and local Steering Committees. They are also responsible for recruiting, hiring and managing Senior Partnerships Director to develop and manage growing external content partnerships pipeline, scoping, program implementation and reporting. They will develop and oversee implementation of a quarterly and annual learning agenda across media properties. They will work closely with Editor in Chief and CEO to ensure balance between mission of company and development and delivery of high quality, audience-facing editorial products. They liaise with the Political Director to review partner content strategies and work with the EIC to implement.
In concert with the EIC and product manager, they are also expected to contribute to the creation of novel editorial products that leverage off-site platforms. They will create pathways for content syndications and key partners to bring audiences to scale. They will conduct regular, proactive outreach to progressive media outlets to make them aware about our content and identify opportunities for content sharing, licensing, syndication or other partnership models to achieve our reach, engagement and impact objectives.
This position will report to the CEO.

Liaise between Sales and Editorial to help prof
Manage product manager and collaborate with IT/Engineering teams to ensure site development and smooth delivery of content, emails, data, other products internally and externally
Ideate, assign, and lead collection and roundup initiatives with key stakeholders, including board chair.
Provide timely reports and collaborative feedback to board chair and other stakeholders.
8+ years of experience in digital publishing, or in digital political marketing or communications, including defining and growing a brand through content.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience with building an engaged cross-platform audience through content (organic and/or paid).
Experience with hiring, building, and managing a distributed team.
Familiarity with performance analytics tools such as Omniture or Google Analytics, and with the process of deriving insights therefrom.
A passion for publishing high quality news and content in an authentic voice across online and mobile channels.
Strong management, interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders across the company.
Ability to manage time and multi-task under tight deadlines.
